Salary and Benefits

Police Officer: Starting salary placement depends on qualifications and experience and is anticipated to be in the range of $6,686 to $6,840 a month. This is a full time, non-exempt position, which will lead toward permanent status following the successful completion of a probationary period.

Police Officer Cadet: The starting salary for this position is $3,576 a month. This is a full time, temporary, non-exempt, non-represented position. Reappointment to this position is dependent upon the individual's performance as well as administrative and budgetary considerations. The university reserves the right to terminate this appointment earlier than the scheduled expiration date.

Both positions are eligible for a broad range of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurances, retirement (CalPERS), tuition waiver, vacation and sick leave. In addition, 14 paid holidays are offered each year; 13 scheduled on specific days and a Personal Holiday that may be taken any time during the year.
